AT Assessment – Assistive Technology Internet Modules (ATIM)

Session Summary

 The session will share information about AT assessment from a valuable online educational resources, the Assistive Technology Internet Modules (ATIM).  OCALI (Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence) teamed up with WATI ( The former Wisconsin assistive technology initiative) to provide a digital format of the 2017 updated manual Assessing Student Needs for Assistive Technology. The WATI Assessment Process includes 38 Modules on Assessment and tools for assistive technology. Each module guides you through case studies, instructional videos, pre- and post-assessments, forms, additional resources, a glossary, and much more. This is an excellent educational resource. 

This session will share information from the updated WATI assessment manual. The resource for this information is the Assistant Technology Internet Modules produced by the Ohio Center for Autism and Low Incidence (OCALI). First we will explore the Assistive Technology Internet Modules with an overview of the 39 WATI assessment process modules including reading, writing, math, communication, computer and mobile device access, switch access and much more. Then we will focus on one module and go through the assessment process including forms, case studies, videos, research, learning activities and resources for tools.

1. Explore important AT resources for online independent learning.
2. Explore the updated WATI AT assessment process and documentation tools.
3. Explore AT resources and tools to support students and clients with AT needs.
